This year feels like an accelerated blur of trying to be a kid while a grown-up weight presses down, noticing the hushed worries and careful budgets at home. I'm learning to navigate the world by building secret forts with my best friend and choosing kindness even when it means stepping away from the crowd. It’s a lot for an eight-year-old to take in, but I’m starting to see that growing up means understanding the quiet struggles as much as the bright joys.
